LARCHMONT, N.Y. John "Jack" Archer Manning, 80, of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Larchmont, died April 17 in Hawthorne.
Manning was born in New York City in 1931. He attended All Hollows Grammar School, Fordham Preparatory School and Notre Dame University, where he played on the baseball team. Manning then earned a law degree at Fordham Law School. A former major in the U.S. Marine Corps, Manning subsequently served in the USMC Reserves for 18 years.
He is survived by his wife of seven years, Nancy; two daughters, Denise Gonzalez and Maura Gannon; three sons, John Manning, Paul Manning and Peter Manning; and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Maureen Boland.
A wake will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. A private family service will be held on Friday at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mount Pleasant.
