Larchmont's Ang Lee To Make TV Directorial Debut

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Longtime Larchmont resident and Academy Award winner Ang Lee has been hired to make his television directorial debut with the FX show "Tyrant," according to published reports.

Lee has been tapped to direct the high-profile pilot for "Tyrant," which is about an American family drawn into the workings of a turbulent Middle Eastern nation. Production is scheduled to begin this summer, The Los Angeles Times reported.

The show was created by "Homeland" executive producers Howard Gordon and Gideon Raff and "Six Feet Under" alumni Craig Wright.

Lee won an Oscar for best director for "Life of Pi."
