LARCHMONT, N.Y. Walter Thomas Faulkner, of Larchmont, died Nov. 4 at the age of 83.
An accomplished corporate and securities law attorney, he served as a member of the Board of Governors for Sound Shore Medical Center and the Village of Larchmont Planning Commission.
He was born on Sep. 17, 1928 in New Haven, Conn. to Walter and Alice Faulkner and was raised in Hamden, Conn. Faulkner graduated from Hopkins School in New Haven and then served in Japan for the U.S. Army during postwar occupation.
After his service, he received a bachelor's degree from Providence College and a law degree from Columbia Law School. Faulkner went on to practice at the Rogers, Hoge & Hills and Kelley, Drye & Warren firms. He also served for many years on the board of directors at Bacardi Corporation and Raymond International, Inc.
Faulkner is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan, his sons John of New York City, Andy of New York City and George of Pleasantville, his daughter Susan of Portland, Ore., his brothers Richard of North Haven, Conn. and David of New Haven and eight grandchildren.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont.
