LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Mary Elizabeth Condon, of Larchmont, died at her home on Jan. 20. She was 90.
Born March 27, 1921 in Manhattan, N.Y., Condon was the eldest daughter of nine children. She married Edwin J. Condon and together they raised seven children. Condon previously worked as an administrative assistant at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital.
A voracious reader, Condon enjoyed playing golf, talking politics and reveling in the company of family and friends. She also happily recounted the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters Catherine McMahon and Mary Ellen Hamilton, her sons Daniel Condon, James Condon and Gerard Condon, her sister Margaret Crowley, her brother Michael McDonough, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Edwin and her sons Edwin J. Jr. and Michael Lawrence.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. The funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Saints John & Paul Church in Larchmont, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
