Mamaroneck 'Sing-Off' Contestant Eliminated

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Mamaroneck native Chloe English's college a cappella group The Deltones was eliminated from NBC's "The Sing-Off" on the episode that aired Monday.

Having survived two eliminations, English is moving on with no regrets.

"It was a really nice experience to be able to be in L.A. and be on a TV show with a group of people that I love so much," English said of her group from the University of Delaware, her alma mater.

Sarah Bareilles, one of three judges, said they blended well in their two performances Monday night, but needed more dynamism, while Shawn Stockman said they lacked a clear identity.

"A lot of the groups have a specific sound, or specific genre of music they sing, but that’s not our niche," she said. "Our music is about feeling it and the heart that we have behind it. I hope that comes off on television."

The Deltones sang Michelle Branch's "Goodbye To You" for their swan song, before leaving "The Sing-Off" stage, as host Nick Lachey said, forever.

English joined the singing group her freshman year at Delaware. She graduated with a degree in English and communications this past May and got married in June. On Sept. 26, the newlywed and her college friends debuted on the third season of "The Sing-Off".
