Mamaroneck Veteran, John Serrecchio Dies at 95

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Lifelong Mamaroneck resident John Louis Serrecchio died March 13 in Little Egg Harbor, N.J. at the age of 95.

He was born Dec. 14, 1916 in Mamaroneck to Joseph and Angelica Serrecchio. During World War II, Serrecchio served in the U.S. Army in Europe and attained the rank of staff sergeant. He married Josephine Serrecchio, who predeceased him.

Surviving are his daughter Barbara (Frank) Davide, his brother Carl (Diane) Serrecchio, his sisters Bernarda "Bea" Hague and Rose Shuttenberg, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his brothers Rocco, Lee, Emilio and Thomas Serrecchio and his sisters Mary Lucas and Ann Fraioli.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Vito's Church in Mamaroneck with a private interment.
