Mamaroneck's Own to Debut on NBC Show Monday

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Eight of the 16 singing groups competing on NBC's "The Sing-Off" will debut Monday, including Mamaroneck-native Chloe English and her college acapella group The Deltones .

The show's third season debuted Sept. 19 and featured the first group of eight, two of which - The Fannin Family and The Cat's Pajamas - were eliminated.

"It means so much to the Deltones as a whole; as an organization," said English, who grew up in Mamaroneck and recenlty moved to Monteray, Calif. "It's going to be incredible to know our alumni can see how far the group has come since they started it 20 years ago."

English attended the University of Delaware, where she joined The Deltones. The acapella group recently celebrated their 20th anniversary with a concert. English graduated in May with a degree in communications and English.

The winner of the all-acapella competition, hosted by Nick Lechay, will receive a $200,000 grand prize and a Sony Music recording contract.
