This year’s distinguished honorees receiving the “Stone Crusher of the Year” award are Dr. Frederick Kaskel of Mamaroneck and Peter Ruggiero of Cold Spring.

The OHF is the only foundation in the world dedicated to improving the care and treatment and finding a cure for Oxalosis, Primary Hyperoxaluria and related kidney stone diseases.

Kaskel is the director of pediatric nephrology at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore, with a focus on kidney disorders in infants, and end-stage kidney replacement therapy and transplantation.

Ruggiero is the global head of equity trading at Moore Capital, a global investment management firm.

Both of these individuals have made substantial contributions to the Oxalosis and Hyperoxaluria Foundation’s mission to find treatment options and a cure for primary hyperoxaluria.

Cocktail hour begins at 7 p.m., followed by an evening of dinner, dancing, live and silent auctions, and raffles. Last year’s gala raised over $200,000 for the benefit of OHF.
