LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Valentine's Day is Thursday and a barbershop quartet just might be the way to surprise a loved one who is expecting flowers, a card, or nothing at all.

The Westchester Chordsmen, a local performing arts organization and award-winning a cappella chorus,is offering Singing Valentines on Wednesday and Thursday. Four tuxedo-clad chordsmen will serenade your valentine with two love songs and deliver a rose (or a dozen) along with two tickets to their spring show.

The musical treat can be delivered to homes, offices, hospitals, or wherever you choose.

"It's Valentine's Day's best kept secret," said Stephen Bartell, a chordsman and Larchmont Rotary Club president. "Last year we delivered over 100 singing valentines, and this year we're also doing a number of institutional gigs, which are at nursing homes, restaurants, elder-care facilities, things like that."

The holiday is one of the organization's two big annual fund-raising opportunities, which help sustain the quartet's activities and allow it to give out a scholarship for young singers.

The Westchester Chordsmen sang at Carnegie Hall in spring 2012 and has toured the world. This year is the group's 60th anniversary.

"We've been delivering singing valentines for over 12 years," Bartell said. "The typical reaction is shock and awe; it's totally unexpected. We have never had a disappointment. Nobody forgets getting a valentine like this."

Singing Valentines start at $60. To order, call 914-713-4311
