Thomson, Mamaroneck Veteran, Dies at 89

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - John P. Thomson of Mamaroneck died surrounded by his family on Jan. 29. He was 89.

Born July 20, 1922 in Rye, he was the son of John P. and Julie Thomson. He served in the Army during World War II as a radio specialist. Thomson then worked as a contract specialist for UOP for more than 30 years. He was also a member of the American Legion in Larchmont.

He is survived by his daughter Bonnie Lyn (Dennis) Cucinella of Mamaroneck, his son John Peter Thomson Jr. of Hilton Head, S.C., two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Charlotte.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home in Mamaroneck. A funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Union Cemetery in Rye.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research, 1111 Stewart Ave., Bethpage, NY 11714.
