Matelich was one of only ten people chosen for this award, which honors first responders and healthcare professionals who have gone above and beyond their call of duty.

Westchester Magazine will profile Matelich and the other awardees in their May 2015 issue and celebrate them at a special awards luncheon that month.

“I'd like to personally, and on LVAC's behalf, congratulate Susan for being recognized with this award.” Grant Nishanian, Larchmont Volunteer Ambulance Corps president, said in a statement. “Since joining five years ago, Susan has become an active member and leader at LVAC, and truly exemplifies this award by going ‘above and beyond the call of duty... Her continued selfless efforts will provide an invaluable positive impact on our organization and the larger community."
