Rail service is expected to be fully restored by Friday morning for New York Penn Station commuters who have faced severe delays and cancellations following Monday's derailment of an NJ Transit train, Amtrak officials said.
Amtrak President and CEO Wick Moorman personally apologized to anyone inconvenienced by the derailment.
“It’s our job to make sure that all of the passengers, both on Amtrak and on our commuter partners can travel safely and reliably,” he said during a press conference. “We know we let them down.”
