Bees Swarming Near Larchmont Village Hall

A nest of carpenter bees has occupied a telephone post on the southeast corner of Larchmont Avenue and Boston Post Road near Larchmont Village Hall.

The quarter-sized insects were in a spring frenzy, mating in mid-air and flying around haphazardly.

Male carpenter bees are known to be very curious and will approach anything close to their nest, but are not aggressive to humans and have no stingers. Females do have stingers, so beware.
