Car Left Running in Larchmont Municipal Lot Stolen

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- The Larchmont Police Department received a grand larceny report Aug. 29 from a  Scarsdale man, who said his vehicle was stolen while he left it running in municipal lot 5 on Gilder Street.

The following items were also reported in the Larchmont Police blotter between Aug. 20 and Sept. 3:

Burglary: Employees of a Larchmont Avenue establishment reported on Aug. 27 that someone entered the establishment and removed $400.

Larceny: A Larchmont Avenue resident reported on Aug. 27 that his bicycle, valued at $300, was removed from the bicycle rack in Lot 1 on the Connecticut-bound side of the train station.

Larceny: A delivery man reported on Aug. 25 that he delivered 30 loaves of bread to a Chatsworth Ave. restaurant and minutes later discovered them missing.

Larceny: Employees of a Boston Post Road restaurant reported on Aug. 23 that a woman ran out without paying for her meal, which cost over $80.

Larceny: A Larchmont Avenue resident reported on Aug. 22 that his bicycle, valued at $700, was removed from the bicycle rack in Lot 3 on the New York-bound side of the train station.

Penal Law Arrest: A Palmer Avenue man was arrested on Aug. 20 and charged with second-degree assault after Larchmont Police Officers responded to the residence on a report of a family dispute. Ted Lawhorn, 61, was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.

Arrest: A Bristol, Conn. woman was arrested on Aug. 20 and charged with operating with suspended privileges after she was observed operating a vehicle on Palmer Avenue and committing a traffic infraction.  The vehicle was impounded and the operator was released on her own recognizance.

The Larchmont Police Department also responded to 67 burglar alarms, four motor vehicle accidents, 15 aided cases and 190 other calls for service.
