Clinic That Treated Larchmont Native Joan Rivers Made 'Major Mistakes'

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- The clinic that was treating Larchmont native Joan Rivers before her death made several serious errors in failing to identify Rivers' deteriorating condition, according to CNN.

The report, released by  Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, did not mention Rivers by name, but the procedures performed, the age of the female patient and the date of the procedures matches those of Rivers, CNN reported. 

The report listed the following failures by the Yorkville Endoscopy clinic, all according to CNN:

  • Failure to identify deteriorating vital signs and provide timely intervention.
  • Failure to consistently document the dose of Propofol
  • Failure to obtain Rivers' consent for procedures
  • Failure to record Rivers' weight prior to the procedures
