LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Con Edison trucks were out in Larchmont Tuesday performing preventative maintenance work, as well as repairing a snapped power line.
Crews upgraded electrical cables that run underground along Madison Avenue as a preventative measure to ensure quality service in the area. The crews removed the old cables and installed new cables, which serves the immediate area.
Down the road, another Con Edison truck was out on Fifth Avenue to repair a snapped wire outside of Collins Brothers Moving Corp. The cable fell onto the road, which the crew on scene set up a barricade to force drivers to avoid the spot until the overhead power line is fixed.
Both are considered one-day projects according to the work crews.
