Court Ruling On Fasny Permit To Be Appealed

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- The White Plains Common Council voted earlier this week to appeal a ruling by the state Supreme Court requiring them to vote on a special permit request that would convert a former country club into a campus for the French-American School of New York, according to Lohud.com.

The FASNY site plan would close a section of Hathaway Lane, a proposal the city voted against last year due to heavy opposition from the Gedney Neighborhood Association, who cited heavy traffic, children safety and a drain on city resources. The two are slated to appear in court again on Feb. 11 about the matter, said Lohud.com.

FASNY's $60 million project would consolidate its three campuses in Larchmont, Scarsdale and Mamaroneck into one campus on a portion of the former Ridgeway Country Club, added Lohud.com.
