Pet Rescue recently saved 46 dogs, including 25 puppies, from a "high kill" shelter in the south and brought them to their rescue facility in Harrison where tails are wagging as they await their "forever families."

This is a fun-loving and happy group of dogs, according to Caroline Walker, a volunteer.

Typical of Pet Rescue dogs, they were selected for their wonderful temperaments and ability to fit right into family life, Walker said.

Whether you are looking for a Beagle-mix, baby Basset Hound, Springer Spaniel mix, or something else entirely, there’s a dog in this group that is sure to win your heart.

Pet Rescue's next "meet and greet extravaganza" is set for Saturday June 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 7 Harrison Ave., just southwest of the village of Harrison. Dogs can be adopted or taken into foster care. For more details about these dogs, or the cats at the facility, go here.

Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization founded in 1982, whose mission is to aid homeless and abused cats and dogs, provide necessary medical care and find them loving, forever homes. The group has rescued more than 15,000 animals and opened its new facility in Harrison last summer.
