Eney Sworn in as New Mamaroneck Town Council Member

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Mamaroneck Town Council made some changes at its meeting Wednesday night, including moving the public comment period from the bottom to the top of the agenda, and welcoming its newest council member Jaine Elkind Eney to the board.

Eney was nominated by Town Supervisor Nancy Seligson, who was a sitting council member before successfully running for supervisor in the Nov. 8 general election. When she was sworn in as supervisor, she vacated her seat, which Eney will now fill.

Eney was previously a trustee for the Village of Larchmont and had to resign from that post at the Jan. 9 meeting, before being sworn in Wednesday night. Her swearing in ceremony drew a full audience of family, friends and local officials, most of whom dispersed immediately after, before Seligson could open the meeting with the public comment section.

The board also recognized Delores Batallia, who has decided to resign as town justice. It also made several appointments to the various boards and commissions Wednesday, but still have several vacancies and request any interested residents to submit their resumes.

To submit your resume, residents can call Seligson at 914-381-7805, or e-mail townsupervisor@townofmamaroneck.org.
