MAMARONECK, N.Y. - The intersection of Waverly and Mamaroneck avenues is temporarily closed as of Thursday morning because of repairs to a water main.
The Westchester Joint Water Works is doing some excavation work where a leak in the main has been pinpointed.
Traffic from Waverly Avenue onto Mamaroneck Avenue is being detoured through nearby streets, and one lane is partially blocked where Old White Plains Road becomes Mamaroneck Avenue.
Road work signage is posted and local traffic is being redirected.
Check back for updates on the possibility of water being temporarily shut off later today or tomorrow. Any shutdown would impact only a small number of customers in the area, specifically those on the block between Waverly Avenue and the Mamaroneck River.
