Fake Water Co. Workers Reported In Mamaroneck

Reports of men posing as Westchester Joint Water Works employees have been received in Mamaroneck.

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – Four reports of individuals impersonating Westchester Joint Water Works employees to get into residents' homes have been received in the past week, Mamaroneck Mayor Norman Rosenblum said in an email alert.

Two incidents were reported last Friday in Harrison in addition to incidents Thursday and Friday in the Village of Mamaroneck, Rosenblum said.

A notification sent by Westchester Joint Water Works advises customers to call their local police or the Westchester Joint Water Works at 914-698-3500 if they have any reason to doubt the identity of someone who claims to be a water company employee.

Joint Water Works employees have photo IDs, which can be produced upon request, the notice said.
