LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Sofia Rosenbaum has the week off from school, but her father has been able to keep her busy with the help of the local libraries.
Sofia, 6, has spent a lot of time this week attending library events, which her father Reuben has taken full advantage of.
"As a father, you're always in search of events, otherwise they climb up the walls," said Reuben Rosenbaum, a Larchmont resident. "We have a week without school, so we have to check all the libraries."
Earlier in the week, Reuben took Sofia to a dreidel house on Boston Post Road to make Hanukkah candles on the last day of the eight-day Festival of Lights. Wednesday, the father and daughter attended the Larchmont Library's one-man circus, hosted by the Friends of The Library in the Village Center. Reuben Rosenbaum watched from the back of the room, while Sofia got a close-up view of Greg Milstein, the one-man circus.
After the performance, Sofia told her father that Milstein was even funnier than he is. Reuben smiled proudly, having kept his spunky daughter entertained for another day.
"This library is great, it has a lot of activities," Rosenbaum said. "There's always a flier that has the upcoming events."
Carl Spadt also took his daughter Catherine, 6, to the Larchmont Library for the one-man circus, while sharing a father-daughter day together. He then took her to the Westchester County Center to watch the girls' high school basketball teams compete in the Slam Dunk Challenge.
"The holiday has been good," Carl said. "We're utilizing everything Westchester has to offer."
