MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Here are some of the stories that topped the news in Mamaroneck and Larchmont last week:
- The New York State Department of Criminal Justice Services canceled a Missing Vulnerable Adult Alert for a 72-year-old Larchmont woman on Wednesday as she was found safe in Manhattan.
- Emily and Eugene Grant of Mamaroneck , supporters of higher education and arts patrons, provided a $5 million gift to Purchase College-SUNY, it was announced on Thursday.
- The White Plains Board of Education announced the appointment of former Mamaroneck Schools Superintendent, Paul R. Fried , as superintendent of schools, effective July 1, 2015.
- The vast reorganization of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York will merge several churches and parishes and could include three churches in White Plains and another four between Dobbs Ferry, Hastings-On-Hudson and Ardsley, according to The New York Times.
