MAMARONECK, N.Y. — The Baseball Camp at Mamaroneck High School, run by 21st Century Sports, was closed at noon Monday due to the high heat.
Temperatures projected to reach into the high 90s forced the coaching staff to send out an email notice to parents this morning, stating, “We regret to inform you that due to the extreme heat conditions, as per law, we are required to close camp today beginning at 12:00 noon.”
Staff was instructed to stay with the day campers until all parents could arrive to pick up their children.
The camp apologized for the late notice of the closing and promised to hold camp Friday to make up for the early dismissal.
However, if temperatures reach into the high 90s again this week, the camp will be forced to close once more.
