I-95 Flooding Cleared, Mamaroneck Roads Clear

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Flooding on I-95 between Mamaroneck and New Rochelle blocked the right lane early this afternoon, but has cleared.

The New York State Thruway Authority reported flooding between exits 18a and 17 on I-95 at 11:47 a.m. The flooding was later reported to have cleared at 3:07 p.m. Neither the Town or Village of Mamaroneck Police Departments say they have received reports of streets flooding, according to both police departments.

"So far we've been lucky, we've been good," said office Frank Maresca, of the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a flash flood watch for Westchester County through Monday evening, and Mamaroneck may get between one and two inches of rain.

"A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding," said the National Weather Service website. "Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warning be issued."
