MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Suzanna Keith released a statement Thursday thanking her supporters and congratulating her opponent in the District 7 County legislator election after the release of the final figures, giving Judy Myers 53 percent of the vote.
"I congratulate Judy Myers on her win," said Keith, who called the election a "big victory for democracy". "I wish her well in carrying out her responsibilities of office." Keith, who garned 4,953 votes for 47 percent of the vote, will now continue her work as a member of the Rye City Council.
“I will work even harder than I did before to show my commitment to the issues I know are important to all of you," she said. "I also want to thank all those who came out in support of my campaign. While the end result of our election did not go our way, we still scored a big victory for democracy. We listened to the residents who spoke loudly and clearly about our County’s tax burden and I will continue the effort to make our County more affordable.”
District 7 includes Rye, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, and part of New Rochelle and Harrison.
