LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- The Larchmont Police Department received a larceny report from a Palmer Avenue firm, which issued a check in excess of $34,000 to a location in the Dominican Republic. A representative for the firm reported July 25 that the check was altered and cashed by someone else.
The following items were also reported in the Larchmont Police blotter between July 23 and July 30.
DWI Arrest : A Bronx man was arrested on July 23 after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Boston Post Road. Nelson Moreno, 62, was charged with driving while intoxicated and released on $100 bail.
Larceny : A Chatsworth Avenue restaurant employee reported on July 27 that someone removed cash from her purse.
Arrest : A Yonkers man was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on July 29 after he was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Boston Post Road. He was issued an appearance ticket and removed to a medical facility.
Larchmont police officers also responded to 12 burglar alarms, eight motor vehicle accidents, nine aided cases and 55 other calls for service.
