LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- A residential building break may be over in Larchmont, according to The Loop.

Still, locals are hopeful opposition items of the past year will lead to changes, said the report.

Six laws were passed by Village board trustees to aid in curbing development, said The Loop.

The news is disappointing to citizens group called Preserve Larchmont created to stop the trend of tearing down old houses to build more than one house on the sites, according to the blog.

Mayor Lorraine Walsh called the process "collaborative. "We’ve made a lot of important changes that will close some gaps in our zoning code," she told The Loop.

“We feel that the laws that have been enacted represent a good compromise,” Sarah Bauer of Preserve Larchmont said, according to the report.
