LARCHMONT, N.Y. - The Larchmont Police Department handled the following incidents between June 11 and June 18:
Attempted Identity Theft: A Kane Ave. resident reported on June 12 that someone attempted to open a credit card account in his name.
Criminal Mischief: A Center Ave. resident reported on June 12 that someone took a tall iron gate at the front of his residence off its hinges, causing damages of an undetermined amount.
Grand Larceny: A Woodbine Ave. resident reported on June 12 that someone successfully opened a credit card account in her name and posted charges in excess of $8,000.
Larceny Report: A New Rochelle man reported on June 13 that someone stole his electric powered moped, valued at $800, after he left it on North Ave. for a period of twenty minutes.
Graffiti Report: Graffiti was discovered spray painted on a USPS mailbox on Larchmont Ave on June 13.
Criminal Mischief: A Department of Public Works employee reported on June 13 that he discovered a parking meter on Railroad Way had been intentionally damaged.
Attempted Grand Larceny: Employees of the Chase Bank branch on Chatsworth Ave reported on June 13 that an individual attempted to cash a fraudulent check draw in the amount of $4,316.
Larchmont Police officers also responded to 12 burglar alarms, nine motor vehicle accidents, seven aided cases and 71 other calls for service.
