The Larchmont Police Department handled the following incidents between May 28 and June 4:
Attempted Theft : A Mount Vernon man was arrested on May 31 after he was observed by a Larchmont Police Officer in the act of removing a bicycle from the rack in Lot 1. Willie Settles, 45, of West 4th St was charged with petit larceny, possession of burglar tools and possession of stolen property. He was arraigned and transferred to the Westchester County Jail on $2,500 bail.
Drug Possession charge : A Scarsdale man was arrested on June 1 after a Larchmont Police officer was alerted by a customer of Tarantos Deli on Boston Post Road that an employee of the deli was acting confused. The officer found Brian Caruso, 39, of Morrow Avenue to be very disoriented and to have marijuana, prescription medications and controlled substances that had not been prescribed to him in his possession. He was charged with criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree and unlawful possession of marijuana. He was transported to a medical facility and released on his own recognizance.
Graffiti report: The owner of a Larchmont Avenue restaurant reported on June 1 that someone drew graffiti on the brick wall outside of his eatery.
Larceny Report : Employees of Wells Fargo Bank on Palmer Avenue reported on June 1 that a female entered the bank and attempted to withdraw $3,300 from the account of another person using fraudulent credentials. The suspect then fled the bank.
Larceny Report : An Oak Avenue resident reported on June 1 that his bicycle, valued at $500, was removed from the bicycle rack in Lot 1.
Larchmont Police Officers also responded to 14 burglar alarms, nine motor vehicle accidents, five aided cases and 65 other calls for service.
