A Look Back: Top News For 2013 In Mamaroneck, Larchmont

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- As the year slowly comes to a close, here's what topped the news in Mamaroneck and Larchmont in 2013:

Mayor Norman Rosenblum defeated Clark Neuringer with with 1,432 votes in the race for mayor of the Village of Mamaroneck.

Chief Joseph DelBianco, of the Mamaroneck Village Police Department, was elected executive director of the Westchester County Chiefs of Police Association.

Six Mamaroneck firefighters were honored for saving an unconscious woman from a blaze at 538 Jefferson Ave. in August.

Ex-Captain Felix Hughes Jr., Ex-Captain Michael Yannuzzi, Lt. Thomas Siemson, Chief Robert Pecchia, Asst. Chief Craig Casterella and Ex-Captain Keith McGlinchey were all honored with the Life Saving Award at the village of Mamaroneck annual inspection on Oct. 2.

Rabbi Alfredo Borodowski, a White Plains resident and the spiritual leader of Congregation Sulam Yaakov in Larchmont, was charged with impersonating an officer.

A fire in a Mamaroneck apartment building in November resulted in nearly 200 residents being displaced

The body of Denis Lukashkov, a 20-year-old Mamaroneck man who had been missing since Sept. 4, was pulled from the Hudson River off the coast of Dobbs Ferry on Sept. 10.
