Lowey to Visit Port Chester Seniors Monday

PORT CHESTER, N.Y. - Congresswoman Nita Lowey (D-Westchester/Rockland) will stop by Port Chester's senior community center Monday to announce they will receive more money each month in their 2012 Social Security benefits.

Seniors in New York's 18th Congressional District will receive an extra $50.50 each month in cost of living increases, Lowey said, as beneficiaries nationwide will see an increase of some kind.

Lowey will also remind seniors that enrollment in Medicare for new beneficiaries began Oct. 15 and will run through Dec. 7, which is an earlier open season period than in previous years, she said.

Lowey will be at the Port Chester senior community center at 222 Grace Church St. on Monday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m.

For more information, residents can contact Matt Dennis from the office of Nita Lowey at 202-225-6506.
