Mamaroneck Marine Unit Sees Improved Year On Water

MAMARONECK, N.Y. - Candido Cabano appreciates the work of the Village of Mamaroneck's Marine Unit, especially on a holiday weekend where many people will be enjoying summer's unofficial end.

"It's very good," said Cabano. "They do a good job."

Mamaroneck Village Police Public Information Officer Det. Sandra DiRuzza said village harbor waters are supervised. So far, 2011 has also been a good year compared to a few incidents last season.

"We do have Bay Constables who patrol the water during the boating season," said DiRuzza. "Last year, there were two arrests made for individuals 'boating while intoxicated'. There have been no arrests made this season for this offense."
