Mamaroneck Residents Report Smashed Car Windows

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Two village residents woke Feb. 2 to find their cars had been broken into overnight and property stolen.  A Palmer Avenue woman reported someone smashed the passenger window of her 2006 Nissan and stole her GPS unit, worth approximately $250. Not too far down the road, another Palmer Avenue woman reported her car window was smashed on the passenger side and her GPS unit, worth approximately $120, was also taken.

Other news from the police blotter:

- Village police responded to an accident hit and run on New Street Feb. 3. A village man, 59, was charged with DWI after hitting three parked and unoccupied cars. He was also charged with unlicensed operation and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.
