Mamaroneck Town's Overnight Parking Ban Lifted Until Friday

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The Town of Mamaroneck lifted the ban on overnight street parking through Friday to help residents during the cleanup after Hurricane Sandy ripped through the region last week.

The town also moved its emergency operation center (EOC) on Monday to Mamaroneck Town Center on 740 W. Boston Post Road, after it had power restored Sunday. The EOC will reopen Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and residents with questions about storm cleanup and power restoration can call the town administrator’s office at 914-381-7810.

A warming shelter at the VFW/ Senior Center at 1288 Boston Post Road will remain open Monday night in the town, which reported on its website that power was restored to about 70 percent of its residents.

For the approximately 1,700 in the town still without power, the Hampshire County Club on 1025 Cove Road in Mamaroneck is also offering its facilities as a warming center with showers available, a place to re-charge cell phones and computers, and some overnight cots.
