Banda said Con Edison crews were continually moving around during the day and that, “things are fluid.” But, she did not know of a crew being moved from the village to Cortlandt.

“We’re doing our very best to restore service as quickly and safely as possible,” Banda said. “Our strategy has been to try to work in areas where the most customers will be restored at once.”

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The one Con Edison restoration crew working in the Village of Mamaroneck was re-routed to Cortlandt Thursday, Mayor Norman Rosenblum said in an email.

The number of customers without power in the village dropped below 1,000 Wednesday, before the nor’easter temporarily pushed it back up. As of 2 p.m. Thursday, there were 729 customers without power in the village.

There are 786 customers without power in the Town of Mamaroneck and 254 in Larchmont.

“Because of weaknesses in the system, some repaired points failed, which pushed our outage numbers back above 1,000 Con Edison customer-accounts,” Rosenblum said in the email.

A message has been left seeking a response from Con Ed.

Rosenblum asked all village residents and businesses to contact Con Edison, the New York State Public Service Commission and Gov. Cuomo with a complaint about restoration crews being moved out of the village.

“The inequities of the restoration by Con Ed is unproductive and without logistical common sense,” Rosenblum wrote in the email.

The village had made daily requests for a second restoration crew, Rosenblum said.
