Mamaroneck Woman Crashes Car, Leaves, Then Returns To Be Charged

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A village woman, 18, crashed her 2008 Honda into the column of a building on the 700 Block of Mamaroneck Avenue Jan. 13 at 9:35 a.m., then left the scene.

An acquaintance drove her back to the scene, where she was issued a summons for unlicensed operation and leaving the scene of an accident. The arresting officer then charged the acquaintance, a 21-year-old Rye Brook man, with DWI after an investigation. The following incidents were also reported in the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department blotter from Jan. 11 to Jan. 17.

- A wallet was left on a locker room bench at a location on the 100 Block of Palmer Avenue Jan. 11 at 9:28 p.m. The wallet contained credit cards, personal papers and $30 in cash. - An unknown suspect made $660 in purchases using a Palmer Avenue resident's debit card number without permission. The victim reported the fraudulent charges Jan. 16.  - Several art objects reportedly worth a total of $60,000 were taken from an apartment on Shore Road in Rye sometime between Dec. 15 and Jan. 17.
