WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- An unidentified man has been pronounced dead after being struck by a train at the White Plains Metro-North station on Tuesday night, authorities said.
The man was removed from the tracks by emergency responders after the incident, which occurred around 9 p.m.
The 35-year-old man stepped onto the tracks shortly before being struck, according to lohud.com. It is unclear why he was on the tracks, authorities said.
Harlem Line service was initially stopped and was delayed for hours as a result of the incident.
