Mount Kisco Medical Group Trims 109 From Its Billing Department

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. -- Mount Kisco Medical Group trimmed its workforce Monday by 109 as it partnered with a new provider for billing services.

Mount Kisco has partnered with IKS Health to perform its revenue cycle management, according to a fact sheet from provided by MKMG. The medical group said employees will remain on staff for 90 days and receive resources for transition.

“As a leading multispecialty medical group in the Hudson Valley, MKMG has experienced first-hand how rapidly the world of health care is changing,’’ said Scott Hayworth, MD, President and CEO of MKMG. “Our most pressing challenge is to use our resources as effectively as possible to fulfill our mission of providing the highest-quality care to our patients. In order to honor that mission, and after many months of careful consideration, we have determined that it will be best to have parts of our billing process performed by a partner that specializes in revenue cycle management, IKS Health. As a result, we will have workforce reduction representing less than 50 percent of the positions within our in-house billing department.”

MKMG said all calls to the billing department will be answered by IKS team members working with MKMG employees.

“The transition to IKS should be seamless for our patients,’’ Hayworth said. “The depth of knowledge and state-of-the-art technologies offered by IKS will enhance the MKMG patient experience and make the billing process more efficient.”

Established in 1946, MKMG employs 2,700 people and has over 500,000 active patients.

“This is a difficult day for everyone at MKMG,’’ Hayworth said. “We thank these impacted employees for their contributions and hope that the financial support and services will help each of them to find new opportunities either within MKMG or at other organizations that will benefit from their talents.”
