No Injuries As Woman Drives Into Pizzeria Window

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- A woman parking an SUV plowed through a window at Leonardo's Pizza Thursday morning but no one was injured, according to the Larchmont Police Department.

After the crash Louigi Ruggiero, owner of the Palmer Avenue pizzeria, cleared broken bottles from his refrigerator, which is directly in front of the window the woman driving the SUV hit. Joe Gentile, of Westchester Architectural Glass in Mamaroneck, said the refrigerators are what stopped the car from going further into the store.

The impact of the crash, which took place before 9:30 a.m., pushed the door frame in, cracked a window, knocked over a television, broke one of two refrigerators, as well as the outside table in front of the window.

"Thank God no one was sitting at that table," Ruggiero said. "The lady went to park the car, jumped the curb and kept on going."

Larchmont Police said no one was injured in the accident, and the driver of the SUV left in her own vehicle.
