Marla and Keith Sernick from Old Greenwich, Conn., and their six children -- Jake, twins Reagan and Chloe, and triplets Cooper, Carson and Katherine -- brought wrapped pillow pets for children in the hospital.

“We want to teach our children that Christmas is about giving back and caring for others who are less fortunate,” said Marla Sernick.

Christine Beechner, vice president of patient and guest relations, who accepted the gifts on behalf of Greenwich Hospital, has already begun distributing the pillow pals.

“The first recipient was a 7-year-old boy being treated in the Emergency Department,” she said.  “He was just thrilled with the gift."
