Parking Prices Increase Slightly In Larchmont

LARCHMONT, N.Y. – Residents and commuters in the Village of Larchmont will see slight increases in parking costs for 2013.

Larchmont has always had lower parking costs than neighboring towns, according to village officials. The goal is to continue offering lower prices, but to also to keep them comparative to Mamaroneck's prices.

The cost of a permit for a metered parking space at the train station for a Larchmont resident will only change from $50 to $55 for 2013. Town of Mamaroneck residents wishing to park in the same lot, as well as those from out of town, will also only see a $5 increase in their fairs as well.

Parking for the non-metered spaces will also increase. Residents will see a $25 increase for combined day and night parking in both the railroad station lot and the other lots. Night time permits in non-metered lots will also increase by $25.

The village has many accommodations for various parking situations. This includes senior parking, night only parking, emergency parking and temporary parking to name a few.

“People have different demands and different needs,” said Mayor Anne McAndrews at the Board of Trustees meeting Aug. 13.

This year, the village is offering a new parking permit that would allow a new parking permit for residents only. This new permit would allow cars to park daytime on Saturday in Lots 4-10 and any lot throughout Larchmont at night.  This permit costs $300 for the year.

The village will begin accepting permit applications sometime in early November, according to Village Clerk Eileen Finn. The new prices, which were approved at last week’s Board of Trustee’s meeting, can be found online. Last year's prices are still listed on the village's website.

Questions about parking can be directed to the Village Clerk's Office.
