Police Charge Mamaroneck Man With Hit and Run, DWI

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- While driving on Waverly Avenue March 12, a village man, 38, reportedly hit two cars parked and unoccupied on the street, then drove off. Police investigating the incident later stopped the driver of the Toyota SUV, who they charged with DWI. He was issued a summons for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage. The following incidents were also reported to the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department.Suspicious Incident: A Florence Street man reported that someone changed his son's address with the U.S. Post Office without his permission. On March 12, he reportedly received a change of address confirmation from the Post Office for his son, which he did not request. Police advised him to report the incident to the Post Office.Fight In Progress: A fight reportedly broke out between two men March 14 on Florence Street. The male victim did not want to press charges.Village Code Violation: A Hartsdale man, 28, was caught littering on Waverly Avenue March 11 at 12:36 a.m. and charged with a Village Code Violation. Criminal Mischief: Someone reportedly broke into a 2010 Dodge parked and unoccupied on Halstead Avenue March 10 at 09:30 p.m. and stole a GPS unit worth approximately $250. The victim reported the passenger window was damaged.
