Jordan Acres, 12, of Kingston went missing about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday when he was last seen near the Boys & Girls Club, said Kingston Police.

Police found the boy about 24 hours later at the Kingston Hospital waiting room trying to stay warm, said Det. Lt. Thierry Croizer.

"He wanted to spend time with friends and then looked for a warm spot to stay," Croizer said.

The boy was afraid he would get in trouble, and wasn't a runaway, police said.
