The Odell Avenue Bridge, which connects busy Nepperhan Avenue and Route 9A Saw Mill River Road, was damaged in January 2014 when a motorist in an SUV skidded on black ice and slammed into the side of the overpass, creating a 24-foot hole.

Repairs are closing both northbound lanes from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for at least the next three weeks to prevent possible falling debris from hitting passing cars. Southbound lanes may also be closed depending on what part of the bridge the construction crews are working on.

Motorists are being detoured to Saw Mill River Road and Nepperhan Avenue and can re-enter the Saw Mill Parkway at Executive Boulevard going north or one half mile south on Nepperhan Avenue going south.

The Odell Avenue Bridge is one of several bridges and overpasses under repair and/or renovation in Westchester County this summer along the Bronx River Parkway, Sprain River Parkway, Cross County Parkway and on local roads.
