MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Construction workers are restoring small sections of pavement on Fenimore Road where Con Edison installed new gas mains in early June, blocking one side of traffic on Prospect Avenue.
The new plastic gas mains replaced old metal ones that had been causing low pressure in the immediate area. P.A.B. Contracting began trenching the square sections of road above two of those new gas mains Friday afternoon in order to restore the pavement to the way it was before the construction.
The two sections are along Prospect Avenue on either side of Fenimore Road. A P.A.B. contractor directed traffic in the four-way intersection while construction blocked cars entering Prospect Avenue from Fenimore Road.
One P.A.B. foreman said they would complete the two sections Friday and have already finished restoring the pavement between Heathcote Avenue and Delancey Avenue where new gas mains were installed.
P.A.B. Contractors will restore one final section of pavement in the middle of Fenimore Road, but didn't know when.
