Two robberies were reported to the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department, including a July 29 bank robbery of a Chase branch, which resulted in the arrest of a Las Vegas, NV suspect, Maximillian Conley Kvetan, and the recovery of the $5,308.00 he is suspected of stealing. On July 30, State Police relayed a call about a possible robbery on Center Avenue, but indicated the caller had a language barrier. Police found nothing upon arrival. The following items were also reported in the Village of Mamaroneck police blotter between July 27 and Aug. 1: Larceny : Police received a report July 27 of someone getting approximately $50 worth of gas at the Sunoco gas station on 540 Mamaroneck Avenue and then leaving without paying. The case is under investigation. Property Damage : A large tree limb fell and struck a vehicle driving southbound on Claflin Avenue July 27. The limb reportedly snapped from the tree and fell onto the car. No injuries were reported, but the limb damaged the roof and glass sun roof of the car. Drunk Driver : Police charged Kevin Purdy, 50, from Yonkers with a DWI after stopping him for a traffic infraction on W. Boston Post Road July 30. Suspicious Incident : Police received a report of garbage on Bleeker Avenue being set on fire during the overnight hours of July 29. Security officers from Beach Point saw the garbage on fire and put it out. Police searched the area but didn't find anyone. Vehicle Stop : One New Rochelle man, 43, and one W. Babylon man, 44, were stopped on 136 W. Boston Post Rd and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana in the overnight hours of July 30. Accident Pedestrian : A Village of Mamaroneck woman driving a Jeep on W. Boston Post Road hit a Stamford, CT female, 51, in the crosswalk July 30. The pedestrian was taken to Sound Shore Hospital for a leg injury. Identity Theft : A Jefferson Avenue resident reported July 30 someone used their name to file taxes. No money was lost. Arrest : A Village of Mamaroneck female was charged with disorderly conduct July 31 for yelling obscenities in public on Jefferson Avenue. Larceny : An unknown person entered a vehicle on Carroll Avenue sometime in the overnight hours of Aug. 1. Police found no forced entry, but the victim reported RX medication missing from their vehicle. Civil Matter : A Wagner Avenue woman reported Aug. 1 a check she issued for work to be done on her car was cashed, but no work was done. She has reportedly been unable to reach the other party, but police spoke with them shortly after receiving the report at 12:08 p.m. and said it appears to be a misunderstanding. Harassment : A Village of Mamaroneck man, 37, was charged with harassing his next door neighbor on W. Boston Post Road. The neighbor reported he was yelled at and pushed.
