MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- Jim Killoran received Céad Mile Fáilte - which in Gaelic means a "hundred thousand welcomes" - as the Grand Marshall of the first Sound Shore St. Patrick's Day Parade Monday at Molly Spillanes.
Mike Hynes and Tim O'Neill, co-chairs of the parade committee, presented Killoran with the Grand Marshall Sash.
Killoran , executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Westchester, was chosen to be the first Grand Marshall because of his work in the community. Most recently, he helped several Mamaroneck families repair damage to their homes from Tropical Storm Irene and Lee .
On March 18, he will lead a procession featuring musicians, dancers, local schools, police, firefighters, pipes and drums bands, and representatives of the areas Irish community down Mamaroneck Avenue.
