State Of Emergency Lifted In Mamaroneck Village

MAMARONECK, N.Y. – The state of emergency in the Village of Mamaroneck was lifted at 5 p.m. Friday, Richard Slingerland, village manager, announced.

The village declared a state of emergency Oct. 28 in anticipation of Hurricane Sandy. It said it would not lift the state of emergency until all Consolidated Edison customers had power restored.

“We wish everyone good luck and fair weather as you and we proceed with our recovery and restoration efforts,” Slingerland wrote in an email Friday afternoon.

All village recreation programs and meetings that use the Harbor Island Pavilion remain suspended because of repair and restoration efforts, said Rosanne Saracino, recreation superintendent.

The village Turkey Trot will take place Sunday. Check-in will be in front of the Harbor Island Pavilion. The Gobbler one-mile race begins at 9:45 a.m. at Library Lane and Boston Post Road. The 5K starts at 10:15 a.m. at the same location.
