Taxi Lamp Vanishes, Burglary Reported in Larchmont

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- The owner of Chatsworth Taxi reported that someone stole the front passenger side marker lamp from one of the company's cabs Feb. 27, while it was parked at the taxi stand on 6 Railroad Way in Larchmont.

The following incidents were also reported to the Larchmont Police Department between Feb. 25 and March 3.

Burglary: The owner of a Boston Post Road service station reported that someone broke into his business overnight Feb. 25 and stole $17,000-worth of property.

Larceny: A Town of Mamaroneck man reported that someone gained access to his bank account and made $9,000 in unauthorized withdrawals.

Vehicle and Traffic Law Arrest: A Bridgeport, CT man was arrested on Feb. 28 and charged with driving with a suspended registration after police saw him committing a traffic infraction on Chatsworth Avenue. The car was impounded and the driver was released on his own recognizance.

The Larchmont Police Department also responded to nine burglar alarms, three motor vehicle accidents, six aided cases and 47 other calls for service.
